After law school in the UK, I worked in-house in a technology consulting company where I reviewed and negotiated contracts. Contrary to a litigator, I help ensure a ‘win-win’ outcome after that business handshakes by codifying it in writing. As the gatekeeper, I advised the business to avoid signing anything onerous that would lead to a court battle. After almost 4 years, I moved to Sydney to get ‘koalified’ in NSW. As a law career is often referred as the ‘practice of law’, I am reminded that life is a marathon, not a sprint!
